It seems to me you have "discovered" Josephus only very recently, which is why he has made a sudden appearance into your "evidence" only in the least week or so. So now you've read a bit more and think you have found something. You have created your OWN timeline FFS, 573 is the accepted date.

Also you have not quoted sources for your statements about Neb and Evil being dead when Baal came to power.

The accepted events appear to be that Baal II was put into power by Nebuchadnezzar in 573BCE after killing Ithobaal III at the end of the 13yr seige (586 - 573)

so, i am in my early 20's.

i'm a firefighter, an emt, and hazmat technician (those guys that take care of chemical accidents), and i'm wanting more of a challenge in my line of work.

i've always loved saving people, i keep calm in frantic situations and i love the challenges.

I assume you were baptised? If you managed to be soon marrying a non JW without getting into difficulties with the elders and you haven't been to meetings in a few years it could be you are off the radar. Keep yourself to yourself. Only tell them when it's too late to do anything about it, and hopefully by then they will realise it aint worth running to the elders to try and talk you out of it or else "discipine" you.

I think your conclusions are entirely logical based on any reasonable level of open minded research, ... I read the bible several times in the last 3 years during my research phase regarding JWs, and I came to similar feelings and doubts about the bible and "The Truth".

Babylon's fall - 455 BC versus 539 BC

As 607 is in the title and not "70 years" as you wish to hold it down to, then that means ALL relevance TO and FROM 607 in this case, including the one you with such obvious and begruding reluctance quietly acknowledge as being directly linked to 1914 in JW teaching.

the watchtower society describes the year 539 bc variously as being an "absolute date", a "pivotal date"; and certainly one on which the chronology of the entire "hebrews scriptures" depends upon.

(some jw apologists have even described that year as being a "drop dead" date).

however, this date of 539 bc didn't just fall out of the sky and mysteriously land on our lap:.

Nice find Bill. As said we as Witnesses (esp. born ins like me) just accepted 607 as the fall of Jerusalem without making ANY real effort to look into it. I'm sure that goes for 99% of JWs.

The same goes for 539 as the fall of Babylon. We never understood the fact that the 539 dating method actually disproves 607. I like MeanMrMustards reasoning of MAKING them do the leg work and research and PROVE 539 FIRST as it is the "pivotal date". It would make them work, think, research and hopefully SEE.

When reading "The Gentile Times Reconsidered" for the 1st time, I was blown away by the level of detail and PROOF of certain dates including the fact that there is MORE evidence for 587BCE as Jersusalems fall than there is for 539 as the fall of Babylon!

But we all know which date the Society accepts and which one is rejects don't we. But of course they argue that it is biblical chronology vs secular chronology, ...this again is proved to be a cheap side stepping move. as we now know THERE IS NO 539 DATE WITHOUT SECULAR CHRONOLOGY, IT IS NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE so please stop this foolish reasoning.

I wouldn't do the item, but I would make sure the elders knew that BEFORE the meeting even starts and preferably at least several hours BEFORE the meeting so someone else can fill in.

I wouldn't go into details just say you "aren't feeling up to it", if pressed could say a little, but to get into specifics will go against you. After this tell them you don't want to be MS anymore, so this doesn't happen again.

Sometimes though it is actually EASIER to get on and do the item than it is to try and get out of it.
